Kidney racket: Interpol issues warrants against 'Dr Horror'

NEW DELHI: Interpol on Friday issued international warrants for the arrest of kidney transplant racket kingpin Amit Kumar and his brother Jeevan.

Kumar, dubbed as "Dr Horror" by the media for allegedly supplying hundreds of kidneys bought or coerced from poor donors, was reportedly running the operation partly from an unknown location in Canada, where his family is said to be living.

The development came barely a day after the investigations in the kidney scam widened with the police detaining at least five doctors at different places in north India.
