Kidney racket: Interpol issues warrants against 'Dr Horror'

Interpol on Friday issued Red Corner notices against alleged kidney transplant kingpin Amit Kumar and his brother, who are suspected to have fled to Canada.

"Kumar (40) and Jeevan Rawat (36) are both subject of national arrest warrants for illegally transplanting kidneys, cheating and criminal conspiracy," the Interpol warrants, issued following request from the CBI, said.

CBI informed the Interpol that the two doctors had allegedly conducted "forced" kidney operations on nearly 500 people during last eight years and the organs were transplanted on patients, including foreigners.
