No problem with my wrist: Prakash

Prakash Amritraj was unable to play a singles Davis Cup tie in 2007. So he's not taking any chances with the tie against Uzbekistan to be played next week.

Amritraj's withdrawal from the $50,000 ATP Challenger in Guangzhao after winning his first round match, citing his left wrist injury, raised questions over his fitness but Amritraj played down those concerns on Friday.

"I'm fine," he says reassuringly. "There aren't any problems with my wrist. It's just that the weather in China was very cold and it left my wrist a bit stiff. I didn't want to risk it so I withdrew. I missed Davis Cup in 2007 and I can't wait to play on grass at home. That's what I've been looking forward to all through the year. Whatever may have happened, Davis Cup is different," an excited Amritraj told TOI .

Having made a comeback after surgery just a few weeks back, Amritraj was a match away from qualifying for the Australian Open and is happy with his form. "I'm feeling strong. I just feel that I need to pace myself a little bit.
I'm coming on strong. It was the first time that I had reached the final round of qualifying at Australian Open. That's definitely a positive."
