Are these T20's world champs?

India dropped dead on a drop-in pitch in what was a high-voltage clash at the MCG on Friday night. As the fireworks boomed in front of 84,041 fans (it was expected to be a record 90,000-plus), the world champions India failed to produce some of their own. Instead, MS Dhoni's team misfired badly against the charged-up bowling of the Australians. Shot out for just 74 in 17.3 overs, the Indians were crushed by nine wickets. The hosts cantered home in just 11.2 overs.

Adam Gilchrist, for whom this was the final international T20 game, played his part in style, scoring 25 off 22 balls, hitting two fours and pulling Praveen Kumar to fine leg for a big six. He had earlier picked up one catch while keeping wickets. Skipper Michael Clarke led the charge for Australia, effecting a superb run out, picking a brilliant catch and
scoring the highest, an unbeaten 37 runs (36b; 1x6, 1x4), to emerge as the man of the match.

More embarrassment came India's way when Harbhajan Singh dropped a catch from Clarke running backwards to deep mid-on as Irfan Pathan, who too was following the ball, ran into him after failing to make a call for the ball.
