Pakistan's cricket authorities are not happy with the antics of maverick fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar who has said he does not need a central contract and also snubbed the special retainer offered to him by the board.
Shoaib made a surprising appearance at the Pakistan team nets at the Gaddafi stadium on Friday leaving many board officials red faced as they had been claiming that since he returned from India he had not bothered to contact them.
The board officials also said they did not know his whereabouts or even if he had returned from India while dropping him from the new central contracts list and not considering him for the home series against Zimbabwe.
But the board announced a special retainer for senior players not given the central contract.
Shoaib told reporters that he was not bothered about not being given the central contract as he did not need one to play for his country and nor would he sign the retainership to play for Pakistan.
"I don't need money to play for my country. It is a matter of honour for me to represent my country," he said.
