After successfully bagging one of the Indian Premier League cricket team, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan on Saturday expressed his desire to invest money in other form of sports which are not so popular in the country.
"It may be asked why have not invested in hockey, football. I started with cricket because it already enjoys huge popularity. It is religion in India and has more opportunity to grow," Khan told reporters here when asked about his venture in sport.
'King Khan,' as he is known among his fans, had recently won the bid for the Kolkata team for $75.09 million. Khan said that the bid for the high-profile cricket team was too big to afford.
"In fact, I cannot afford that and there is also not much space for profit with this benchmarked numbers," he said. However, the superstar admitted his passion toward sports and wished to assist the budding sportsmen of the country.
